Pangong Tso lies 154kms (5-6 hours drive) away from Leh. The route passes through Chang La, the third highest motorable pass of the world, down to the village of Tangse, the last major settlement on the route.

The land becomes isolated thereafter with very few nomadic settlements, sparsely spread along the road. Pangong Lake is beautifully blue and clear salt water lake. One must stay overnight to experience sheer serenity of the ambience of this water body.
