Climatic conditions in Ladakh vary from being extremely cold to moderate with never having seen the warmer side of seasonal change. Winters are marked with temperatures that are below freezing point. Altitude is a big factor when it comes to planning a visit to Ladakh. Due to lesser oxygen level at high altitudes in and around Ladakh, one might experience dizziness and headaches. Avoid halting for a long time at passes with altitudes higher than 10,000 feet. A proper medical kit including oxygen enhancing tablets for high altitudes is recommended to be taken with you all the time. Drinking sips of water frequently will also help you to acclimatise with the surrounding soon.
