INDUS

Indus is a major river of Ladakh with Chenab, Shayok and Zanskar as its tributaries in this region. It cuts the region beautifully to fertile the lands that lie beyond. On the way to Hemis from Leh, Sindhu Darshan place is quite famous with a small area available as a picnic spot as well. It is here that the three-day Sindhu Darshan festival takes place in the month of June. Zanskar meets river Indus at the Sangam after which the river becomes loftier.
